The iconic W126 S-Class is definitely a milestone for Mercedes-Benz. This
particular example, from 1983, was completely rebuilt by INDEN design in 1991,
and is still capable of getting the enthusiast all fired up.
Even at walking pace, the car looks impressive, with its deep and wide stance as
well as the all-black paint job. The soundtrack is also promising at idle,
thanks to the 386 hp belted out by the 6 liter engine with 100mm piston from the
former 560 SE series. A stainless-steel sports exhaust system exits from the
manifold, with a diameter of 60 mm each.
INDEN design has created widened front fenders from the 560 SE and around 70mm
wider and rear wheel arches for that menacing look. At the front, the three-part
INDEN Champion aluminium rims measure10.5 x 18 inches and 12.5 x 18 inches at
the rear. High performance Pirelli P Zero tires are sized 255/35 R18 and 315/30
R18.
The suspension consists of specially shortened dampers and progressive-rate
lowering springs with 18mm wire gauge. Necessary retardation is provided an AP
6-piston sports brake system with 352 x 32mm discs. This corresponds to the
original DTM brake-system of the C-Class from 1991!
