For over 25 years, the main focus of German tuner Wimmer Rennsporttechnik has been to increase performance, be it via electronic or mechanical methods. Whether the optimization is implemented by chip tuning, adding turbochargers or an intervention into the complex compressor technique – it is crucial for the team to carry out the client’s wish, by all means, if it’s technically possible. Also exhaust systems, chassis technology, high-performance brakes and much more, are the daily “bread” of the crew.
Wimmer recently presented this tweaked Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG S - the 4.0L engine, which makes 510hp and 700Nm of torque in stock guise, gets modified to put out 801hp and 900Nm torque. The top speed limiter has been done away with as well, increasing max velocity to 320km/h."
The full fat upgrade level, Wimmer RS level V, is achieved by various steps, including software adjustments. Firstly, the turbos get an upgrade, followed by revised nozzles, fuel pump and intercooler. An extra water pump gets installed, along with a handcrafted stainless steel exhaust system, Y-pipe with sports cats, and two BMC high-performance air filters. Dynamics is taken care of with a KW coilover suspension version 3 and BBS wheels sized 9x20 (with 245/30-20 tires) at the front and 10x20 (with 265/20-30 tires) at the rear.
