Aachen-based tuning specialists AC Schnitzer have convincingly proven that the driving dynamics of the most advanced sports car today, the BMW i8, can be perceptibly and above all measurably optimised by the AC Schnitzer carbon aerodynamic conversion, lowering and fitting of the AC1 forged alloys.

The clock stopped at 8:19.80 min after the fastest lap of the North Loop, and with this time the i8 by AC Schnitzer joins an illustrious group of supercars, most of which have considerably more powerful engines than the plug-in hybrid, whose engine remains largely standard.

Touring Car ace and truck racer Markus Oestreich, who already holds the record with the ACL2 as the current fastest road-legal BMW on the Nordschleife, was astonished after his lap in the i8 by AC Schnitzer: “I never expected this. True, I know what AC Schnitzer can do. They build good and really fast cars, but the i8 is something special. All credit to them for creating so much fun and being so fast!”
